Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Conferred “Best Chief Minister Award” at Asia’s Leadership Summit 2026

Gangtok, April 26: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang was conferred the “Best Chief Minister Award” at the 7th Edition of Asia’s Leadership Summit & Six Sigma Healthcare Excellence Awards 2026 held at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.

The award was received on his behalf by Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation and Commerce and Industries, Tshering Thendup Bhutia, in the presence of dignitaries and participants from across the country.

The recognition honours Tamang’s leadership, governance, and contribution to public service in the state. The selection was made by the Board of Jury following an evaluation process based on various parameters related to administration and service delivery.

The summit brought together policymakers, senior government officials, members of the armed forces, healthcare professionals, and representatives from various sectors. Awards were presented under different categories to recognise excellence in governance, healthcare, leadership, and public service.

Reacting to the honour, Chief Minister Tamang expressed gratitude to the organisers and dedicated the award to the people of Sikkim. He said the recognition reflects the trust and support of the citizens and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive and people-centric development.

Tamang added that the award strengthens the government’s resolve to continue working towards a healthier, progressive, and inclusive Sikkim while improving governance and service delivery across the state.
