Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Conferred “Best Chief Minister Award” at Asia’s Leadership Summit 2026

Gangtok, April 26: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay has been honoured with the prestigious “Best Chief Minister Award” at the 7th Edition of Asia’s Leadership Summit & Six Sigma Healthcare Excellence Awards 2026, held at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. The award recognises his leadership, governance, and contributions to public service and inclusive development in the state.

The award was received on the Chief Minister’s behalf by Sikkim Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation and Commerce and Industries, Tshering Thendup Bhutia, during a grand ceremony attended by policymakers, senior government officials, healthcare professionals, members of the armed forces, industry leaders, and distinguished guests from across the country.

According to the organisers, the award was conferred following a rigorous evaluation by the Board of Jury, which assessed nominees on various parameters, including administrative efficiency, public service delivery, governance, innovation, and developmental initiatives. The recognition acknowledges the Sikkim government’s efforts under Tamang’s leadership in promoting inclusive growth, strengthening public welfare programmes, and improving governance across the state.

The summit served as a national platform to celebrate excellence in governance, healthcare, leadership, and public administration. Awards were presented in multiple categories to honour individuals and institutions that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to public service and nation-building.

Reacting to the honour, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organisers for the recognition. He dedicated the award to the people of Sikkim, stating that the achievement belongs to every citizen whose trust, support, and cooperation have contributed to the state's progress.
