Darjeeling MP Raju Bista Arrives in Sikkim Ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit

Gangtok, April 25: Raju Bista, Member of Parliament from Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency, arrived in Sikkim on Saturday for a four-day official visit ahead of the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bista was accompanied by Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Member of the Bihar Legislative Council and BJP Sikkim State In-charge.

Upon arrival at Burtuk Helipad, the MP was received by several officials and representatives, including Pakyong Zilla Upadhyaksha Prabha Pradhan, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister Yougan Tamang, Councillor Tshering Palden Bhutia, Legal Consultant (CMO) Puja Lamichaney, OSDs Dina Gautam and Sharmila Chettri, ITS Member Dr. Neeraj Adhikari, Chairperson Sanjay Rai, Student Welfare Board Member Naresh Chettri, and Gangtok District Vice-President Devimaya Pradhan. Officials from the Home (Protocol) Department were also present to welcome the delegation.

Under the leadership of Prem Singh Tamang, Chief Minister of Sikkim, the state government has been undertaking coordinated preparations for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit. Departments have been assigned specific responsibilities and are working in close coordination, with regular monitoring to ensure that all arrangements are completed as per protocol.

During his visit, Bista is expected to review ongoing and upcoming development initiatives in the state. Discussions are likely to focus on infrastructure development, connectivity, and public welfare programmes.

The visit is also expected to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and facilitate the timely implementation of key development projects in Sikkim.
