“1000 Steps of Unity”: Sikkim Plans Grand Dance Production with 2,000 Performers for PM’s Visit

Gangtok, April 24: Sikkim has begun preparations for the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister, with arrangements being coordinated under the guidance of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.

As part of the preparations, the state’s Cultural Department is organising a series of performances to create a festive atmosphere. The programme is being supervised by the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Jacob Khaling.

Artists from across the state are taking part in the preparations, reflecting Sikkim’s spirit of unity in diversity. Participants include Self Help Groups, members of the All Sikkim Dance Institute Association, along with singers and musicians.

The highlight of the event will be a grand dance production titled “1000 Steps of Unity,” featuring nearly 2,000 performers. The presentation aims to showcase Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage while blending traditional dance forms with diverse styles from across India.

Officials said the cultural showcase will celebrate the state’s traditions and unity as Sikkim prepares to welcome the Prime Minister.
