Meghalaya CM Holds Meeting with Rangbah Shnong, Discusses Community Issues

Shillong, April 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma held an interaction with several Rangbah Shnong (traditional village heads) to discuss key issues affecting local communities.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and Minister Sosthenes Sohtun, where participants deliberated on a range of matters concerning public welfare and development.

Among the major concerns raised were issues related to water sources under the Jal Jeevan Mission, as well as challenges faced by local poultry and pig farmers due to low market prices and declining sales of locally reared pigs.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to promoting local pig farming and strengthening support systems for farmers in the sector.

Discussions also covered issues related to the power sector and matters concerning the proposed express highway project.

Sangma said the government will continue engaging with community leaders to address these concerns and work toward effective solutions for the benefit of the people.
