Itanagar, April 21: A delegation from the Committee on Public Undertakings (COPU) of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly visited the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA) on Monday for an interaction with its counterpart aimed at strengthening oversight of public sector undertakings.

The 13-member delegation, led by COPU Chairperson Shri Charles Marngar, held discussions with APLA COPU Chairman Shri Jikke Tako and member Shri Oken Tayeng during the visit.
Welcoming the delegation, Jikke Tako highlighted the importance of such exchanges in enhancing accountability, transparency, and efficiency in the functioning of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
During the interaction, both committees shared experiences and best practices related to their roles and responsibilities, including presentations on internal functional rules and discussions on improving legislative oversight.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening inter-state collaboration and improving governance of public sector institutions across Northeast India.
The interaction was facilitated by Smti Tadar Meena, Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, with assistance from Joint Secretary K. Jugli and Under Secretary K. Lowang, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme.
