Imphal, April 28, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Tuesday inaugurated the Ebudhou Phunal Ningthou Telheiba Santhok, Ningthou Apanba Laishang (Temple) at Sandrok Laibung Hall in Imphal East, reaffirming the importance of preserving the state's rich indigenous religious traditions and cultural heritage.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by L. Rameshwor Meetei, local leaders, religious elders, and members of the community. The programme featured traditional rituals and prayers, marking the opening of the newly established sacred site dedicated to the worship of Ebudhou Phunal Ningthou Telheiba Santhok.
Special prayers were offered during the ceremony for lasting peace, stability, prosperity, and the well-being of all the people of Manipur. Participants prayed for harmony among communities and for the restoration of normalcy across the state, reflecting the spiritual significance of the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Khemchand said the inauguration of the Ningthou Apanba Laishang symbolises the enduring strength and resilience of Manipur's spiritual and cultural traditions. He observed that the state's indigenous faith has long served as a guiding force in preserving social values and strengthening community bonds.
The Chief Minister noted that sacred institutions such as temples and traditional religious centres are more than places of worship. They serve as important centres for promoting harmony, discipline, mutual respect, and moral values while encouraging people to follow the path of unity and righteousness.
