The participants, who are undertaking the Women on Wheels expedition, met the Governor as part of their journey through the Northeast. The initiative aims to encourage women to explore new horizons, promote self-confidence, and inspire greater participation of women in activities traditionally considered challenging or male-dominated.

Welcoming the participants, Governor Yadav commended their enthusiasm, courage, and determination. He described the Women on Wheels initiative as an inspiring example of women stepping beyond conventional boundaries and embracing new opportunities through adventure, travel, and leadership.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that such programmes serve as powerful reminders of the growing role of women in shaping society and breaking barriers in various fields. He noted that the participants’ willingness to undertake long-distance journeys and engage with different communities reflects confidence, resilience, and a spirit of exploration.

Yadav emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-belief, encouraging the participants to continue pursuing their goals with determination. He remarked that women today are making significant contributions in every sphere of life, including education, governance, business, science, sports, and social development.

Highlighting the theme of unity in diversity, the Governor said initiatives such as Women on Wheels help build stronger connections between different parts of the country. By travelling across regions and interacting with local communities, participants gain a deeper understanding of India’s diverse cultures, traditions, and social realities.

Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Rani Lakshmibai, Yadav stated that women are capable of achieving extraordinary accomplishments when they possess courage, determination, and conviction. He encouraged the participants to become role models for younger generations and continue inspiring other women to pursue their dreams without fear or hesitation.

The Governor also stressed the importance of creating greater awareness about the Northeast region. He observed that despite its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and immense potential, the region is often not fully understood by people from other parts of the country. Programmes such as Women on Wheels, he said, provide valuable opportunities to showcase the unique identity, traditions, and hospitality of the Northeast.

The interaction concluded with a group photograph and exchange of views between the Governor and the participants. Officials said the meeting underscored the importance of empowering women, encouraging adventure and leadership, and promoting cultural exchange through meaningful initiatives.

The Women on Wheels programme continues to be recognized as a platform that celebrates women’s achievements while encouraging exploration, confidence-building, and greater awareness of India’s diverse cultural landscape.
