In a rejoinder issued on April 27, ZRO objected to statements made by the President of the Federation of Haomee (FoH), Sapamcha Jadumani, who reportedly alleged that Kuki National Organisation (KNO) President P.S. Haokip and Zomi Revolutionary Organisation President Thanglianpau Guite were involved in armed aggression against indigenous communities in the state.

The allegations were reportedly made in connection with the ambush near TM Kasom and an attack at Tronglaobi.

Rejecting the claims, ZRO stated that it had no involvement in the incidents and said the accusations were made without any verifiable evidence. The organisation described the statement as a “concocted and malicious campaign” aimed at damaging the reputation of its leadership.

The ZRO further criticised the remarks made by Jadumani, stating that they had contributed to confusion and tensions within the community.

The organisation advised the FoH leader to refrain from making what it termed “emotive, provocative and unsubstantiated statements” in the future and urged that freedom of expression be exercised within the framework of the Indian Constitution and moral responsibility.

The statement comes amid ongoing tensions in Manipur, where various organisations continue to exchange allegations over recent incidents in the region.
