Imphal, April 21: Global Vectra Helicorp, the operator of helicopter services under Manipur Heli Services, has announced the temporary suspension of its operations from April 21 due to operational reasons, creating fresh concerns for commuters who depend on the service for essential travel across the state.

In a statement shared through Imphal Airport, the company said that helicopter operations would remain suspended until further notice. It added that any decision regarding the resumption of services would be communicated at the earliest once operational issues are resolved. The operator also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers and thanked them for their understanding and cooperation.
The suspension comes at a time when helicopter services have become an important mode of transportation in Manipur due to the prolonged disruption of road connectivity caused by ethnic unrest, highway blockades, and frequent shutdowns. With several stretches of the state's National Highways remaining vulnerable or inaccessible, many residents have increasingly relied on helicopter services for safe and timely travel.
