Itanager, April 20: Arunachal Pradesh para badminton star Biri Takar has brought international glory to the state by winning two gold medals and one bronze medal at the prestigious Czech Para Badminton International 2026 held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Takar delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and resilience against top para badminton players from around the world. His remarkable achievement has earned widespread appreciation and further established Arunachal Pradesh's growing presence on the international sporting stage.
The ace para shuttler clinched his first gold medal in the Men’s Singles SL4 category, demonstrating dominance and consistency throughout the competition. He added a second gold medal in the Men’s Doubles SL3–SU5 category, where he partnered effectively to secure the top podium finish. Completing a memorable campaign, Takar also won a bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles SL3–SU5 category, making it a three-medal haul for India and a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh.
Congratulating the athlete on his remarkable success, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein described the achievement as a matter of immense pride for the state. He said Takar’s accomplishments reflect his unwavering determination, discipline, and fighting spirit, which have enabled him to excel on the international stage.

Following his victory, Takar expressed gratitude to his coaches, teammates, and supporters who played a crucial role in his journey. He specially thanked his doubles partners Joao and Sofia, as well as the Department of Sports, Arunachal Pradesh, GoSports Foundation, Badminton Association of India, and the Paralympic Association of Arunachal Pradesh for their constant encouragement and assistance.
