Itanagar, April 17: The fourth edition of Arunachal Runway, one of Northeast India’s prominent fashion platforms, was held at Nyokum Lapang Ground in Itanagar on Thursday, celebrating indigenous culture and emerging design talent from across Arunachal Pradesh.
This year’s edition was themed “Ngul Nyishi,” a tribute to the traditions, aesthetics and cultural identity of the Nyishi community. Designers presented collections inspired by traditional motifs, textures and indigenous craftsmanship, blending heritage elements with contemporary fashion design.
The grand finale featured eight designers competing with their collections, each offering a unique interpretation of the theme and showcasing innovative approaches that combined traditional identity with modern fashion.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, who attended the event as Chief Guest, announced that Arunachal Runway will now be included as a calendar event in the state, recognising its growing role in promoting indigenous designers, artisans and weavers.
