Shillong, April 18: The highly anticipated Shillong concert of legendary German rock band Scorpions has been cancelled following unforeseen medical circumstances affecting members of the band.
The concert was scheduled to take place on April 21 at the RBDSA Sports Complex in Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi district, and was expected to be the opening show of the band’s “Coming Home 2026” India Tour. The event had generated significant excitement among rock music fans across Meghalaya and the Northeast.
According to an official update issued by BookMyShow on April 18, the entire India tour has been called off due to health-related issues involving the band members. The tour was slated to include performances in Shillong (April 21), Delhi NCR (April 24), Bengaluru (April 26), and Mumbai (April 30).
Sources earlier indicated that the cancellation was linked to respiratory health issues faced by the band’s lead singer, Klaus Meine, though the organisers did not elaborate on specific medical details.
“We regret to inform you that the Scorpions ‘Coming Home’ India Tour stands cancelled due to unforeseen medical circumstances affecting the band members,” BookMyShow said in its statement, apologising for the inconvenience caused to fans.

The organisers also expressed hope that the band will return to perform in India when circumstances permit.
All ticket holders who purchased passes through BookMyShow will receive automatic refunds within 7 to 10 working days.
The Shillong show had marked the band’s planned return to the city after nearly two decades, making the cancellation a major disappointment for fans who had been eagerly awaiting the performance.
