Saitual, March 01: The 61st General Conference of Kristian Thalai Pawl (KTP), the youth fellowship wing of the Presbyterian Church of India under the Mizoram Synod, is being held at Saitual Public Playground, drawing an overwhelming turnout of delegates and worshippers from across Mizoram. Widely regarded as the largest religious gathering in the state, the conference has once again demonstrated the strong faith, unity, and spiritual commitment of Mizo youth.

This year’s conference is particularly significant for the host town of Saitual, which is hosting the prestigious gathering for the fourth time. The town previously hosted the KTP General Conference in 1966, 1976, and 1992, making the 2026 event another important milestone in its history. Preparations for the conference had been underway for months, involving extensive coordination among church leaders, volunteers, local authorities, and community members.
Organised by the Mizoram Presbyterian Kohhran, the conference has attracted more than 47,000 registered delegates, making it one of the largest youth-based Christian gatherings in the region. Thousands of young people from various Presbyterian congregations across the state have travelled to Saitual to participate in worship services, fellowship programmes, Bible studies, and other spiritual activities.
The theme for the 61st General Conference is “Pathian tana mi hlang”, based on Psalm 119:1–3. The theme emphasizes a life devoted to God, obedience to His teachings, and the pursuit of righteousness. Throughout the conference, speakers and church leaders have encouraged participants to deepen their faith and remain steadfast in their Christian values amid the challenges of modern society.
The main message during the gathering was delivered by Rev. PC Lalropuia, who urged young people to dedicate their lives to God and become positive influences within their families, churches, and communities. He emphasized the importance of spiritual discipline, integrity, and commitment to Christian principles in everyday life.
According to organisers, the morning worship service witnessed an estimated attendance of around 59,000 people, including delegates, church leaders, volunteers, and visitors. The large turnout highlighted the continuing relevance and popularity of the KTP General Conference among the youth of Mizoram. During the service, offerings amounting to ₹5,18,815 were collected.

The conference also serves as a platform for fellowship and unity among young Presbyterians from different districts and congregations. Participants have been engaging in worship sessions, choir presentations, cultural programmes, and discussions aimed at strengthening their spiritual growth and community bonds.
Church leaders noted that the KTP General Conference has played a significant role in nurturing generations of Mizo youth and promoting Christian values throughout the state. The event continues to be one of the most influential religious gatherings in Mizoram, bringing together thousands of young believers in a shared expression of faith and commitment.
The massive participation at this year’s conference reflects the enduring strength of the Presbyterian Church in Mizoram and the vibrant spiritual life of its youth. As the gathering continues, organisers hope that the messages and experiences shared during the conference will inspire participants to live lives guided by faith, service, and devotion to God.
