Tripura CM Meets All Tripura ST NGOs, Emphasises Collaborative Support for Tribal Students

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday held a meeting with representatives of the All Tripura ST NGOs to discuss issues related to the education and welfare of tribal students in the state.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister noted that around 20,000 students are currently studying in nearly 250 NGO-run boarding houses across Tripura. He said the state government has been extending necessary support to these institutions from time to time and will continue to work in closer collaboration in the days ahead.

Emphasising the importance of education and infrastructure in shaping the future of the state’s youth, Saha said building the careers of future generations is a shared responsibility. He urged NGO representatives to work with greater sensitivity and responsibility in guiding Janajati students and to act as active partners in the state’s journey of inclusive development.

The Chief Minister said the government remains committed to strengthening cooperation with civil society organisations to ensure quality education, a supportive environment and better opportunities for tribal students, as part of its vision to build a “New Tripura.”

Representatives of the NGOs welcomed the assurance of continued government support and expressed their willingness to further strengthen coordination in the interest of students’ holistic development.
