Imphal, February 6: The Manipur Police on Thursday organised a one-day training programme on the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID) at the auditorium of the New Manipur Police Headquarters in Mantripukhri, in collaboration with the NATGRID team under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The training was conducted as per the directions of the Union Home Minister and aimed at familiarising police officers with the features, scope and operational use of NATGRID. The programme focused on strengthening intelligence sharing and promoting data-driven investigations to enhance policing and internal security.
Around 150 police officers from various units of the Manipur Police participated in the programme, both in person and through video conferencing.

The NATGRID resource team included Dr. Saurabh Gupta, Advisor (Project NATGRID), Cdr. Jitesh P. Saini, Director, NATGRID, and Anup Kumar, Deputy Secretary, NATGRID. The experts provided technical insights, operational explanations and practical guidance on the use of the intelligence platform.
Senior officers of the Manipur Police, led by the Director General of Police, also attended the programme. The session concluded with appreciation for the organisers and participants, highlighting the importance of leveraging technology-based intelligence systems to improve law enforcement efficiency and coordination.
