Villagers from areas surrounding the industrial site have demanded the immediate relocation of the plant, alleging that its operations have caused serious environmental pollution and posed significant health risks to local communities. The agitation has gathered momentum in recent days, with residents expressing growing frustration over what they describe as the adverse impact of the factory on their lives and livelihoods.
According to the protesters, emissions from the ferro-silicon plant have led to deteriorating air quality in the area. Residents claim that smoke, dust, and other pollutants released during the manufacturing process have affected nearby villages, resulting in respiratory ailments, skin irritations, and other health-related issues. They allege that children, elderly residents, and those with existing health conditions have been particularly affected.
Apart from health concerns, villagers have also raised alarm over the environmental impact of the factory. Protesters allege that emissions and industrial waste have damaged crops, reduced agricultural productivity, and contaminated nearby water sources used by local communities. As agriculture remains a primary source of livelihood for many families in the region, residents fear that continued pollution could have long-term economic consequences.
Community leaders stated that several representations and appeals have been submitted to concerned authorities over the past months, but they claim that no concrete action has been taken to address their grievances. While acknowledging the importance of industrial development and economic growth, they stressed that such progress should not come at the cost of public health and environmental sustainability.

The protesters have called on the district administration and the state government to conduct an immediate and independent environmental impact assessment of the plant. They have also demanded stricter enforcement of pollution-control measures and consideration of relocating the factory away from densely populated areas.
With villagers vowing to intensify their agitation if their demands remain unaddressed, authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. The developments have highlighted the growing challenge of balancing industrial development with environmental protection and community welfare in the region.
