The meeting brought together senior government officials, KAAC representatives, and members of various Karbi civil society groups to review pressing issues affecting the district and explore measures to strengthen governance and improve public service delivery. The discussions reflected the state government's continued engagement with local stakeholders in addressing challenges faced by the autonomous council.

One of the major issues deliberated during the meeting was the eviction of illegal encroachments from government land, including Village Grazing Reserve (VGR) and Professional Grazing Reserve (PGR) land. The participants discussed the need for coordinated action to safeguard public land, prevent further encroachments, and ensure that reserved areas are protected in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

The Chief Minister also reviewed proposals for the relocation of certain government offices within Karbi Anglong to improve administrative efficiency and facilitate better coordination among departments. Officials stated that the proposed restructuring is intended to enhance governance by making government services more accessible and ensuring smoother functioning of administrative offices across the district.

Addressing the participants, Sarma stressed the importance of close cooperation between the Assam government, the KAAC, and Karbi civil society organisations in addressing governance challenges and accelerating development. He underscored that sustained dialogue and coordinated efforts are essential for maintaining transparency, improving service delivery, and promoting inclusive growth in the region.

Officials said the meeting forms part of the state government's broader initiative to strengthen autonomous institutions, improve land management, and enhance administrative efficiency in Karbi Anglong. The deliberations are expected to pave the way for more effective governance, better financial management, and faster implementation of development initiatives benefiting the people of the district.
