New Delhi, February 17: Nagaland’s Tourism and Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along met Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi to discuss measures aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure and enhancing the state's position as a key travel destination in the Northeast.

The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts by the Nagaland government to promote tourism-led economic growth by improving infrastructure, connectivity, and visitor facilities across the state. Sharing details of the interaction on social media, Along highlighted Nagaland’s immense tourism potential and described the state as a land “where clouds speak to the mountains.” He noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to deliberate on initiatives that could further improve tourism infrastructure and create a more welcoming environment for domestic and international visitors.
According to Along, strengthening tourism facilities remains a priority for the state government as it seeks to showcase Nagaland’s unique identity and attract greater tourist footfall. He emphasised the importance of developing quality infrastructure, improving accessibility, and creating sustainable tourism opportunities that benefit local communities while preserving the state's cultural and environmental heritage.
The minister also expressed gratitude to Scindia for his continued interest in the development of the Northeast and for engaging in discussions on projects that could support Nagaland’s tourism sector. He said collaboration between the Centre and the state government is essential for unlocking the full potential of tourism as a tool for employment generation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
Responding to the meeting, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia shared his appreciation for the interaction, stating that it is always a pleasure meeting Temjen Imna Along. Scindia remarked that their discussions reflected the vibrant, warm, and welcoming spirit of Nagaland, a state known for its hospitality and rich cultural traditions.
