Dimapur, February 3: Advisor to the Government of Nagaland H Tovihoto Ayemi on Tuesday inaugurated the Niu Colony Council Hall-cum-Office Building at Niu Colony in Dimapur, marking a significant step towards strengthening grassroots governance and community participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayemi described the new facility as an important milestone in amplifying community voices and improving public service delivery at the local level. He said the Council Hall would serve as a vital platform for effective governance, decision-making and collective growth, while reinforcing the principles of grassroots democracy.
Congratulating the Niu Colony community on the achievement, Ayemi said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to unity, participatory development and responsive administration. He expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would enhance coordination between local representatives and residents, contributing to transparent and inclusive governance.

In a statement, the Bharatiya Janata Party Nagaland unit said the inauguration reflects the party’s continued focus on empowering local institutions, guided by the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. The party described the event as another step towards participatory democracy and strengthening grassroots governance.
The inauguration was hailed as part of broader efforts to promote effective local administration and community-driven development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
