Aizawl, Feb 17, 2026: Vijay Kumar Singh on Monday informed the Assembly that Mizoram witnessed a record surge in tourist arrivals during April–December 2025.

A total of 6,79,607 tourists visited the state during the period, including 6,70,001 domestic/local visitors and 9,606 foreign tourists. The figure has already surpassed the total footfall of the previous financial year by 29.50%, reflecting a strong upward trend in the tourism sector.
December 2025 recorded the highest-ever monthly tourist footfall at 1,33,520 visitors, marking a 122.11% spike compared to December of the previous year.

With this remarkable growth, Mizoram has emerged as the fastest-growing state in tourist footfall among the Northeast states, the Governor said, highlighting the expanding appeal of the state as a travel destination.
