Imphal, February 10: Manipur Police on February 10, 2026, arrested six active militants belonging to proscribed outfits in a series of coordinated operations across Manipur and outside the state, officials said.
In a major breakthrough, police arrested three active cadres of KCP (Apunba) for their involvement in a bomb blast at the Lilong Chajing area under Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West district. The arrested individuals were identified as Laimayum Nelson Sharma (20) of Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak, Chingkheinganba Wahengbam (20) of Sagolband Wahengbam Leikai, and Laithangbam Robert Singh (32) of Uripok Sorbon Thingel. They were apprehended from separate locations, including a residence, Imphal airport, and Minuthong area.
Police said items recovered from their possession included two mobile phones, two Aadhaar cards, a wallet containing ₹260, and two vehicle number plates bearing registration MN 01AK 3615. With these arrests, all individuals involved in the Lilong Chajing bomb blast case have now been apprehended.
In another operation the same day, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KYKL, identified as Yaikhomba Meitei, a sub-structure Imphal West Finance Secretary of the outfit. He was arrested from Gurugram, Haryana, where he was allegedly operating an extortion network targeting Manipur. Police recovered four mobile phones, two Aadhaar cards with different addresses, a driving licence, a PAN card, an SBI ATM card, an Airtel Payments Bank card, and a Kotak Visa card from his possession.

Separately, security forces arrested another active cadre of KCP (Apunba), identified as Sagolshem Johnson Singh alias Pandum alias Nongshaba (32) of Langjing Achouba Awang Leikai. He was apprehended from Narankonjin Makha Leikai area under Wangoi Police Station in Imphal West district. Police said he was involved in intimidating the authorities of Catholic schools in the Imphal area to force admissions. Three mobile phones and a side bag were seized from him.
Manipur Police said these arrests reflect intensified operations against militant activities, extortion, and intimidation, and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order across the state.
