Itanagar/Bameng, February 23: Bollywood playback singer Kanika Kapoor arrived in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday to a warm welcome and is set to headline the Nyokum Yullo Golden Jubilee celebrations in Bameng, East Kameng district, on Tuesday evening.

Kapoor landed at Donyi Polo Airport, where she expressed excitement about visiting the state and performing for local audiences. “I am more than excited to be in Arunachal Pradesh and look forward to interacting with the wonderful people here,” she said upon arrival.
The singer, known for chartbusters such as Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Lovely, Tukur Tukur, Beat Pe Booty, and Oo Bolega, will take the stage at 8 pm on February 24 as the main attraction of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The Nyokum Yullo festival, one of the most significant agrarian celebrations of the Nyishi community, marks prayers for prosperity, harmony and a bountiful harvest. This year’s Golden Jubilee edition in Bameng commemorates 50 years of the indigenous festival and features an expanded programme of cultural events, sports activities and musical performances.
Organisers said the live concert has been planned as a special highlight for festivalgoers, particularly youth, blending traditional celebrations with contemporary entertainment. Large crowds are expected to attend the landmark celebration in East Kameng district.
