Organised by the Secretariat Administration Branch ‘B’ in collaboration with its training partner, Living For Environment (LiFE), the initiative aims to upgrade sanitation and waste management practices within the Secretariat.
The training curriculum has been designed based on findings from a 2019 waste assessment study conducted by LiFE and incorporates Swachh Office protocols. It also aligns with the amended Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, set to come into effect on April 1, 2026.
Participants will receive hands-on guidance in modern sanitation techniques, effective waste segregation and environmentally responsible disposal methods. Technical sessions will focus on the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment to ensure a hygienic and efficient workplace.

The initiative underscores the Home Department’s commitment to transforming the Nagaland Civil Secretariat into a model of cleanliness, efficiency and sustainable administrative practice.
