Chowna Mein Attends VB-G RAM G Chaupal, Flags Off Tractor Rally in Namsai

Namsai, February 13: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended a Chaupal Beithak on VB-G RAM G and flagged off a Tractor Rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Namsai District Unit, reaffirming the government's commitment to rural empowerment, agricultural development, and grassroots governance.

Addressing a large gathering of party workers, farmers, Panchayat representatives, and local residents, Mein said the initiative reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen rural India through inclusive development and effective implementation of welfare programmes. He noted that the VB-G RAM G programme seeks to enhance rural infrastructure, improve governance delivery, and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every household, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

Highlighting the transformation taking place in rural Arunachal Pradesh, the Deputy Chief Minister pointed to the growing contribution of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in improving livelihoods and creating economic opportunities for women. He said SHGs have become an important pillar of rural development by promoting entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and community participation.

Mein also stressed the increasing role of start-ups, innovation, and skill development in creating new opportunities for the state's youth. He encouraged young people to take advantage of government support mechanisms and emerging economic opportunities to contribute to the state's growth and development.

Emphasising the importance of good governance, the Deputy Chief Minister called for transparency, proper documentation, and systematic monitoring at the Panchayat level. He said these measures are essential to ensure that development programmes are implemented effectively and that public funds are utilised in a responsible and accountable manner.

According to Mein, coordinated efforts among government departments, local bodies, and community stakeholders, along with the use of technology and sound financial management practices, will help ensure timely delivery of benefits to deserving beneficiaries.

The Tractor Rally, flagged off by the Deputy Chief Minister, symbolised farmers’ empowerment and the government's continued focus on strengthening the agricultural sector. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers and local residents.

Among those present were MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Namsai Chau Sujana Namchoom, ZPC Lohit Smt Basalu Dellang, BJP office bearers, karyakartas, and members of the farming community from across Namsai district.
