Itanagar, February 7: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday met a delegation from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), Japan, led by programme officer Atsushi Tsujimoto, along with a group of Japanese students.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister and the delegation held wide-ranging discussions on strengthening academic collaboration, promoting youth engagement, advancing peace studies, and enhancing cross-cultural exchange. The meeting underscored the importance of people-to-people ties in deepening mutual understanding between India and Japan.

Chief Minister Khandu noted that such engagements play a vital role in fostering dialogue on peacebuilding, sustainability and higher education, particularly among young people. He highlighted Arunachal Pradesh’s growing interest in international academic partnerships and cultural exchanges that contribute to long-term cooperation.
The discussions also reflected the expanding scope of India–Japan relations, with both sides emphasising shared values and collaboration in areas of peace, education and sustainable development. The visit by the SPF delegation was seen as another step towards strengthening bilateral ties through academic and youth-oriented initiatives.
