Imphal, February 7: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Friday met a delegation of Naga Hill leaders from Tamenglong and Noney districts at his office. The delegation was led by S. Kamei and L. Kamei.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister highlighted the Centre’s vision of accelerated reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the country is moving forward on a “Reform Express” focused on infrastructure-led growth. He said the upcoming Imphal–Silchar railway line, which passes through Tamenglong district, is expected to transform the region into a key hub of development by improving connectivity and creating new economic opportunities.

The discussion focused on infrastructure development, connectivity and people-centric governance in the hill districts. The visiting leaders expressed their support for ongoing development initiatives and conveyed their aspirations for inclusive growth in the region.
Thanking the delegation for their warm wishes and cooperation, Yumnam Khemchand reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that development reaches remote and hill areas, with infrastructure projects playing a central role in improving livelihoods and regional integration.
