Siji, February 6: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday laid the foundation stones for a series of key infrastructure projects at Siji, marking a major push to strengthen administration, connectivity and public services in Lower Siang district.

The projects include the construction of a Mini Secretariat at Siji, an RCC bridge over the Siji River, improved road connectivity from the Likabali Highway to the district headquarters, a government secondary school at Dipa, residential accommodation for government officers and staff, a rest house, a fire station, Type-V quarters at Siji, and a police station at Pale.
The Chief Minister said these initiatives would collectively form the backbone of a new administrative and service delivery ecosystem for the region, improving governance efficiency and access to essential public services.

During his visit, Khandu said he was pleased to see Lower Siang district now fully functional and reviewed ongoing infrastructure works, including inspection of the district headquarters plan. He described the developments as a significant step forward for the region.
Earlier, the Chief Minister highlighted the upgradation of the 40-bedded Kardu Taipodia District Hospital at Likabali, calling it a milestone in strengthening public healthcare. He said the hospital would serve as a beacon of hope by providing improved medical care, dignity and timely services to the people of the region.
Officials said the projects underscore the state government’s focus on balanced development and infrastructure-led growth in newly created districts.
