Guwahati, January 20: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Sri Sri Damodardev International Auditorium will be formally dedicated to the public on January 27, marking a significant addition to the State’s cultural infrastructure.

The newly constructed auditorium, an 800-seater facility, is located within the premises of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, one of Assam’s most prominent centres for art, culture and heritage.
According to the Chief Minister, the auditorium is expected to provide a new platform for hosting cultural programmes, performances and major events, thereby expanding and diversifying the existing infrastructure available for cultural activities in the State.

The dedication of the Sri Sri Damodardev International Auditorium is aimed at strengthening Assam’s cultural ecosystem and offering enhanced facilities for artists, cultural organisations and the public. The addition is also expected to boost the Kalakshetra’s role as a hub for national and international cultural engagements.
