Etalin, January 30: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday attended a coordination meeting at Etalin with power developers to review the status of key hydropower projects planned and under implementation in the region.
The meeting focused on progress of the 3,097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project (HEP) and the 680 MW Attunli HEP, both currently under implementation. Discussions were also held on projects under survey, including Emini (500 MW), Amulin (420 MW) and Mihumdon (400 MW) hydropower projects.
With a combined planned capacity of 5,097 MW, the Chief Minister said the review centred on project timelines, statutory clearances and coordination among stakeholders. He emphasised that hydropower development must go hand in hand with local welfare, infrastructure development and environmental responsibility.

Pema Khandu underlined the importance of ensuring that affected communities benefit from improved infrastructure, employment opportunities and overall socio-economic growth. He also highlighted the strategic significance of hydropower projects in strengthening national energy security while contributing to Arunachal Pradesh’s development.
The Chief Minister called for close coordination between developers and the state government to ensure timely execution of projects in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
