Parakram Diwas 2026 Observed at INA War Museum, Moirang

Moirang, January 23, 2026: The 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was commemorated with solemnity and patriotic fervour at the INA War Museum-cum-Library as Parakram Diwas 2026 was observed in Moirang. The event was graced by the Governor of Manipur, who paid homage to the legendary freedom fighter.

As part of the observance, floral tributes were offered to Netaji, an U-Thambal (lotus) tree was planted symbolising remembrance and renewal, and the INA Calendar 2026 was formally released. The programme highlighted Manipur’s historic association with the Indian National Army and its unique place in India’s freedom struggle.

The occasion was further marked by a video message from Narendra Modi, who reaffirmed the enduring inspiration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and underscored Manipur’s significant role in the nation’s fight for independence. The Prime Minister’s message resonated with the theme of courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor urged the youth to draw inspiration from Netaji’s ideals of bravery, discipline and selfless service. He called upon young citizens to contribute actively to nation-building with a sense of responsibility, courage and dedication, stating that Netaji’s vision remains deeply relevant in shaping India’s future.

The observance concluded with renewed calls to uphold the values championed by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and to remember the sacrifices made at Moirang, a site of immense national historical significance.
