Three UKNA Cadres Arrested in Connection with Deadly Tronglaobi Blast

Imphal, April 8: Security forces have arrested three cadres of the United Kuki National Army in connection with the Tronglaobi bomb attack that killed two children in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.

According to officials, the arrests were made during a security operation carried out in parts of Churachandpur District following intensified search operations launched after the attack.

Security personnel also recovered one AK rifle and a pistol from the arrested individuals. The accused are currently in custody and are being interrogated regarding their direct or indirect involvement in the incident.

The arrests come after Yumnam Khemchand Singh vowed that those responsible for the attack would be captured “dead or alive.”

The deadly explosion at Tronglaobi on April 7 killed a five-month-old infant and his five-year-old brother, triggering widespread protests across the valley districts.

Following the incident, authorities imposed curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West and suspended internet services in five valley districts to prevent the spread of misinformation and maintain law and order.

Officials said search operations are still ongoing to locate other individuals who may be linked to the attack as security forces continue their investigation.
