Imphal, April 7: Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced that the Manipur government has decided to hand over the investigation into the Tronglaobi bomb attack to the National Investigation Agency following the deadly incident that claimed the lives of two children.

Addressing a press conference at his official residence in Imphal, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the attack, describing it as an attempt by vested interests to disturb the fragile peace in the state. The decision to transfer the case to the NIA was taken after consultations with the Home Minister and other legislators.
Khemchand Singh said that the perpetrators of the attack are yet to be identified but assured that security forces have launched an extensive combing operation to track them down. The operation involves combined teams of State Police, Assam Rifles, and Central Reserve Police Force, with helicopters also being deployed to assist the search.
He informed that a high-level security review meeting was held with officials from the Army, Assam Rifles, State Police and CRPF, directing them to intensify operations and take swift action against those responsible.
Appealing for calm, the Chief Minister urged citizens not to react emotionally and to cooperate with the authorities to help restore normalcy in the region.
Meanwhile, Konthoujam Govindas Singh stated that such violent acts are carried out by elements attempting to derail peace whenever the situation begins to improve. He said security forces have been instructed to capture the perpetrators of the blast “dead or alive.”

The Home Minister also confirmed that five people were injured when protesters attempted to storm a CRPF camp in Bishnupur district earlier in the day. Two of them later succumbed to their injuries, while others sustained minor wounds.
Both the Chief Minister and the Home Minister later visited the injured victims and family members at Raj Medicity.
The Chief Minister also expressed grief over the death of a minor girl staying at the Akampat relief camp, announcing ex gratia assistance and support for the affected families while extending condolences to those who lost their loved ones.
