Kohima, Jan 26, 2026: The Northeast Advenduro Nagaland Edition-X 2026, one of the region’s premier motorcycle endurance events, was officially flagged off on Monday morning from PR Hill Junction in Kohima, marking the start of a five-day high-intensity adventure ride across Nagaland.
The multi-day endurance event brings together seasoned adventure motorcyclists from across the Northeast and other parts of the country. Riders will cover an arduous distance of approximately 1,100 to 1,500 kilometres, navigating GPS-based routes through rugged terrains, remote villages and interior districts, testing their endurance, navigation skills and teamwork.
The flag-off programme began with an invocation by Zajamo Odyuo, Associate Pastor, City Church, Kohima. Peter Rutsa, Convenor of Advenduro Northeast–Nagaland Edition-X 2026, delivered the welcome address, followed by a detailed briefing on the Advenduro format by Sunil Karnany.
The event was formally flagged off by senior officials of the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland. Highlighting the significance of the rally, officials said the Advenduro ride reflects the spirit of adventure while showcasing Nagaland’s vast tourism potential. They noted that the initiative promotes community-based tourism by encouraging homestays at every stop, ensuring direct benefits to local communities and promoting destinations beyond conventional tourist circuits.
Organisers stated that the event aims to position Northeast India as an epicentre of adventure motorsports while showcasing the region’s rugged landscapes, rich cultural heritage and resilience. The ride will pass through 12 districts - Kohima, Phek, Zunheboto, Kiphire, Shamator, Noklak, Tuensang, Longleng, Mon, Mokokchung, Tseminyu and Wokha.

In addition to the endurance ride, the event features individual and team categories, river raid sprints, relay races, and photography and videography contests, with a total prize pool of ₹60,000. The rally also carries strong social messages such as “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life,” “Say No to Addiction, Say Yes to Adventure,” and “Protecting Nature, Preserving Heritage.”
The event is organised under the aegis of the Nagaland Adventure Club and Gorilla Moto, with Nagaland Tourism as co-partner. Royal Enfield and Numaligarh Refinery Limited are supporting partners, while Assam Rifles has extended support as a goodwill partner.
Organisers expressed confidence that the Northeast Advenduro Nagaland Edition-X 2026 would strengthen Nagaland’s growing reputation as a hub for adventure sports and experiential tourism in the region.
