Longleng (Nagaland), January 19: The Longleng District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) on Sunday held a meeting to deliberate on key developmental and administrative matters, including preparations for the 75th Platinum Jubilee celebration of Longleng.

The meeting was held at the DPDB Hall, Longleng, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom, NCS. Proceedings began with the introduction of newly inducted board members, followed by a review of the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting.
One of the major agenda items discussed was a proposal submitted by the Phom People Council (PPC) for celebrating the 75th Platinum Jubilee of Longleng town, proposed to be held in November 2026. After detailed deliberations, the board agreed to move forward with the initiative and decided to constitute committee members to undertake preliminary preparatory work for the celebration.
During the meeting, the chairman also directed the Department of Horticulture to present its departmental activities and progress report in the next DPDB meeting.

The board further discussed preparations for the upcoming 77th Republic Day celebrations at the district headquarters. A review of work distribution was carried out, and responsibilities were finalized and assigned to various departments to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
In addition, the DPDB resolved to organize a mass social work across the district on January 24, 2026, as part of its community engagement and cleanliness initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the chairman, marking the end of the deliberations.
