PM-DeVINE, NEC Schemes Reviewed; Key Projects Inspected in Dimapur

Dimapur: A review meeting on the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East (PM-DeVINE) and schemes of the North Eastern Council (NEC) was held on January 17, 2026, at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. The meeting was chaired by Angshuman Dey, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER).

The meeting focused on reviewing the utilisation of released funds, submission of demands, and progress reports under PM-DeVINE and NEC schemes. Officials from all concerned departments attended and presented updates on the status and implementation of their respective projects.

On the same day, Dey inspected the construction works of the 220/132kV (2×100 MVA) and 132/33kV (2×50 MVA) Tsitronge–Dimapur substation, being executed under the PM-DeVINE scheme. He also visited the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) to review the upgradation works of the Radiation Oncology Department and assessed the progress of the project.

On January 18, 2026, the Joint Secretary continued inspections of projects implemented under PM-DeVINE and NEC schemes across Dimapur district. He visited Thiluxu village to review an NEC-funded project on value addition in coffee. The initiative includes procurement of coffee roasting machines and capacity-building through entrepreneurship training, aimed at improving market access, strengthening local enterprises, and enhancing income generation for coffee growers and entrepreneurs.

Dey also inspected the construction of a Common Facility Centre (CFC) Emporium for Handloom and Handicraft at Agri Expo Nagaland, implemented by the Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Board (NKVIB), and visited the state-of-the-art Cane and Bamboo Technology facility at the Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, under the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA).

The inspection team included S. D. Meena, Director, MDoNER; Temsunaro Aier, Development Commissioner, Government of Nagaland; Hekato N, Additional Director, Department of Land Resources; Kasho Chishi, Chief Engineer (Transmission & Generation); Asangla Imti, Secretary, Power Department; Kuku Mero, State Mission Director, NBDA; Tolto Metha, along with other departmental officials.

Officials said the reviews and inspections were aimed at ensuring timely execution, effective fund utilisation, and maximising development impact of PM-DeVINE and NEC projects across Nagaland.
