Imphal, January 19: Film screenings, song and musical events held in residential localities and public parks across Manipur will be suspended from February 1, 2026, in view of the upcoming school examinations. In a joint press release, the two organisations said the move was aimed at ensuring a conducive environment for students preparing for examinations scheduled in the coming months. Emphasising the importance of academic focus and a disturbance-free atmosphere, they noted that loud entertainment activities in neighbourhoods could adversely affect students during this crucial period.
However, the organisations clarified that film screenings and song or musical programmes may still be permitted if held in designated halls or auditoriums, provided that such events conclude by 10:00 pm. They urged organisers, sound service providers, and the public to cooperate and strictly adhere to the decision.
