Churachandpur, Jan 29, 2026: The Kuki National Organisation (KNO) has expressed appreciation to N Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser of the GPRN/NSCN and Convenor of the Working Committee of the NNPGs, for his statement condemning the recent burning of K. Songlung Kuki village, allegedly carried out by ZUF (Kamson).

In an official letter dated January 29, 2026, issued from Manmasi, KNO President P. S. Haokip thanked Zhimomi for his “timely statement” on the sectarian crisis, stating that it was particularly meaningful given the trauma endured by the Kuki people over the past two-plus years.

The letter noted that the principled stand taken by the NNPG leadership, rooted in an ideology that promotes peaceful coexistence, resonates with the sentiments of tribal communities. The KNO also described the condemnation as an important gesture amid ongoing tensions in the region.
The communication underscores growing calls from various groups for accountability and restraint, while reiterating appeals for peace and coexistence among communities affected by the continuing unrest in Manipur and neighbouring areas.
