Pasighat, January 29: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday inaugurated Academic Block–A of Arunachal Pradesh University at Pasighat, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen higher education infrastructure and create improved learning opportunities for students.

The newly inaugurated academic block is expected to enhance the university’s capacity to provide quality education, support academic activities, and foster a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research. The inauguration ceremony was attended by university officials, faculty members, students, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the development of modern educational infrastructure remains a key priority of the state government. He emphasized that investments in education are investments in the future of Arunachal Pradesh and are essential for building a skilled and knowledgeable generation capable of meeting emerging challenges and opportunities.
Khandu noted that institutions of higher learning play a crucial role in shaping society and driving socio-economic progress. He said the new academic block would provide students with better facilities and resources, helping them pursue academic excellence and broaden their horizons.
Highlighting the growing importance of Pasighat in the state’s educational landscape, the Chief Minister described the town as an emerging hub of higher education. Often referred to as the gateway to Arunachal Pradesh, Pasighat has witnessed steady growth in educational infrastructure over the years. The addition of Academic Block–A, he said, would further strengthen the town’s role as a centre for academic and intellectual development.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need to promote research, innovation, and skill development in educational institutions. He expressed confidence that the new facility would encourage students to excel in their studies and contribute meaningfully to society.
