Tripura CM Lays Foundation Stone of Airtel Data Centre in Agartala

Agartala, January 29: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of the Airtel Data Centre at Chanmari, marking a significant milestone in the state’s digital transformation journey.

Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, the Chief Minister said the state-of-the-art facility reflects Tripura’s growing prominence as an emerging hub for digital infrastructure, technology-driven investment, and innovation in the North East. He noted that the data centre will play a crucial role in strengthening digital connectivity and supporting the region’s expanding digital ecosystem.

Dr Saha said the project is expected to generate new employment opportunities while fostering innovation and technological advancement in the state. He added that such initiatives are aligned with the government’s vision of building a Digitally Empowered Tripura and promoting inclusive and sustainable development.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony was attended by senior government officials, representatives of Airtel, and other stakeholders, underscoring the state government’s focus on leveraging digital infrastructure as a driver of economic growth and employment generation.
