State-Level Orientation Programme Launched Under Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan in Tripura
Agartala, September 16, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Tuesday inaugurated the state-level orientation programme and state process labs under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, underscoring the importance of tribal development in realizing the national vision of “Viksit Bharat-2047.”
The programme, organized by the Department of Tribal Welfare, marks a significant step towards strengthening governance mechanisms and ensuring the effective implementation of welfare schemes for tribal communities. Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan is being described as one of the largest welfare-oriented initiatives aimed at empowering tribal populations through improved service delivery, capacity building and grassroots governance.
Addressing officials, field workers and representatives from various departments, Dr. Saha emphasized that the progress of tribal communities is integral to the overall development of the nation. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently stressed the need for inclusive growth, with special focus on the welfare and empowerment of janajati communities across the country.
“The vision of Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved unless our tribal communities progress alongside the rest of society. Their development is not only a social responsibility but also a national priority,” the Chief Minister said.
Dr. Saha noted that tribal communities play a vital role in preserving India’s cultural diversity and heritage. He stressed that targeted interventions in education, healthcare, skill development, infrastructure and livelihood generation are essential to improve the quality of life in tribal areas and ensure equitable growth.
The newly launched orientation programme aims to equip government officials and grassroots workers with the knowledge, skills and tools required to implement welfare schemes more efficiently. The state process labs, meanwhile, are designed to improve coordination, monitoring and problem-solving mechanisms to ensure that government benefits reach intended beneficiaries, particularly those living in remote and underserved tribal regions.
Officials said the initiative focuses on building a trained and responsive workforce capable of addressing local challenges while ensuring greater transparency and accountability in programme implementation. Through regular training sessions and capacity-building exercises, the government aims to strengthen the delivery of services related to education, health, nutrition, housing and social security.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government's efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity in tribal areas, noting that development must reach every village and household. He said initiatives such as improved schools, healthcare facilities, drinking water projects and livelihood programmes are helping create new opportunities for tribal youth and families.
