Aizawl, September 16, 2025: Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) employees in Mizoram today staged a sit-in demonstration at the Joint YMA Field in Vaivakawn, demanding regularization and clarity on their employment status. The protest was organized by the All Mizoram Centrally Sponsored Scheme Employees Co-ordination Committee (AMCECC).
The employees raised concerns over the non-implementation of the Regularization of Centrally Sponsored Scheme Employees Scheme, 2024, which they claim has not been applied fairly. They accused the government of ignoring representations made to the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (DP&AR) Minister and failing to address the hardships faced by CSS workers.
The protestors also cited the Chief Minister’s recent Independence Day remarks, where he urged employees to “do their duty.” They asserted that CSS employees have been left without clear directions and action plans, and warned that unless their demands are addressed, further demonstrations will follow.

Similar protests were reported across Mizoram as CSS employees voiced their grievances and called on the state government to take urgent action.
