CSS Employees Hold Sit-in Demonstration at Vaivakawn, Demand Regularization

The protest was organized by the All Mizoram Centrally Sponsored Scheme Employees Co-ordination Committee (AMCECC) and drew participation from CSS employees representing different departments and schemes across the state.

The demonstrators expressed dissatisfaction over what they described as the government's failure to implement the Regularization of Centrally Sponsored Scheme Employees Scheme, 2024 in a fair and transparent manner. According to the employees, despite repeated representations and appeals submitted to the government, their concerns remain unresolved.

Speaking during the protest, representatives of the committee alleged that the state government had failed to respond adequately to memorandums submitted to the Minister of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (DP&AR). They said CSS employees continue to face uncertainty regarding their future, job security, and service conditions despite years of service under government-sponsored programmes.

The protestors also referred to remarks made by the Chief Minister during the recent Independence Day celebrations, in which government employees were urged to perform their duties diligently. The employees argued that while they have continued to discharge their responsibilities, they have not received clear directions, policy decisions, or an action plan regarding the regularization process.

The AMCECC warned that the issue has reached a critical stage and that employees would be compelled to intensify their agitation if the government does not take immediate steps to address their demands. They called on the authorities to provide a clear roadmap for implementing the regularization scheme and to ensure fair treatment for all eligible employees.

Meanwhile, similar demonstrations were reportedly held in other parts of Mizoram, reflecting growing dissatisfaction among CSS employees. The committee urged the state government to engage with stakeholders and take urgent action to resolve the long-pending issue.
