Nagaland’s Peleno Petenilhu Conferred National Teachers’ Award 2025

KOHIMA, Sept 5: Ms. Peleno Petenilhu, an English teacher at John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema, Kohima, has been honoured with the prestigious National Teachers’ Award 2025 by President Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

Petenilhu has earned national recognition for her innovative teaching methods that contextualize English learning through local folktales and real-life issues. Her “Each One Teach One” initiative encourages senior students to mentor their juniors, while activities such as thematic poetry, peer reviews, mock interviews, and panel discussions foster confidence, critical thinking, and effective communication among learners.
