Imphal, Sept 5: The Government of Manipur celebrated Teachers’ Day 2025 with a state-level function held at the City Convention Centre, Imphal. The event was jointly organised by the Department of Education (Schools), Higher & Technical Education, SCERT, and Adult Education.
The programme was graced by Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur as the Chief Guest, while Shri R.K. Dinesh Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary (Higher & Technical Education/SCERT/Adult Education/AR/MAHUD) & Commissioner (Education), presided over the function. Shri Naorem Praveen Singh, IAS, Secretary (Education-S/YAS/OBC & SC/MA), attended as Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary Dr. Goel highlighted the pivotal role of teachers as not only imparting knowledge but also mentoring students in values of character, compassion, and harmony. He also extended warm congratulations to Smt. Macha Sana, Arts Graduate Teacher of Ghari Upper Primary School, who brought pride to the state by receiving the National Teachers’ Award 2025.
As part of the celebration, awards were presented to recognise outstanding contributions in education:
• State Teachers’ Award 2025 was conferred upon eight distinguished teachers for their exemplary service.
• Manipur State Award for Educational Excellence 2025 was awarded to eight colleges for their significant achievements in academic advancement.
