CM Pema Khandu Extends ₹50 Lakh Ex-Gratia to Family of Pahalgam Martyr

Itanagar, Sept 7: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday handed over an ex-gratia of ₹50 lakhs to Smti Charo Kamhua, wife of Late Corporal Tage Hailyang, who was martyred in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

Corporal Hailyang, hailing from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri district, was among the 26 victims of the deadly assault. In his final moments, he displayed exceptional courage by guiding stranded tourists to safety, an act of bravery that has left an indelible mark on the nation’s conscience.

The Chief Minister, while extending the state’s deepest condolences, lauded the fallen soldier’s courage and sacrifice. “We remember his bravery and offer our heartfelt respect to his wife, father, and entire family, who have borne this immense loss with dignity and strength,” Khandu said.

The state government’s gesture is a recognition of Corporal Hailyang’s supreme sacrifice in the line of duty and a message of solidarity with the bereaved family.
