Addressing the gathering, Khandu said the mission aims to make Arunachal synonymous with kiwi, just as Assam is with tea. “Ziro Valley will stand at the heart of this farming revolution, driving innovation and organic excellence,” he remarked.

As part of the Harvest of the Month initiative, two exemplary farmers were honoured for their achievements in progressive farming:

Apple (Royal Delicious & Granny Smith): Shri Netan Dorjee Thungon of West Kameng expanded his orchard from 300 to 1,200 apple plants, producing 20 MT annually and earning ₹12 lakhs, with a strong emphasis on sustainability.

Avocado (Ettinger & West Indian): Shri Nani Sha of Papum Pare expanded to 2,800 avocado plants across 5.5 hectares, earning ₹4 lakhs from his first harvest while cultivating premium varieties like Hass and Ettinger.
