Mizoram Holds High-Level Meeting to Finalize Preparations for PM Modi's Visit

AIZAWL, September 1, 2025: The Mizoram government convened a high-level review meeting today to finalize preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on September 13. The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Sairang Railway Station, a landmark project that will bring Mizoram's capital onto the national railway map for the first time.

Chaired by Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, the meeting took place at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO. It brought together heads of various government departments and security agencies to ensure smooth coordination and robust arrangements for the event.

Senior officials from a wide range of departments were present, including the Director General of Police, Principal Secretary (GAD), and Secretaries of Home, Planning, Transport, and Power & Electricity. Representatives from key external agencies such as the North Eastern Frontier Railways, Assam Rifles, Army Medical Corps, and the Indian Meteorological Department also participated to address their specific roles in the security and logistical planning.

Discussions focused on a range of critical issues, including venue management and security protocols at key locations like Lengpui Airport, Thuampui, and Lammual Ground, where the main public program will be held. The public event is expected to see a large turnout, including government employees, students, and citizens from across the state.

The Chief Secretary urged all departments to work in close collaboration to ensure the Prime Minister's visit proceeds without disruption. Measures to minimize traffic congestion and improve road conditions were also deliberated to streamline crowd management and logistics for the day of the event.
