Imphal, September 1, 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal arms activities, Manipur Police arrested four members of a self-styled Keishal Village Volunteer Organization from their residences on August 31. The arrested individuals were identified as Rajkumar Sidharth @ Momo (33) of Sagolband Bijoy Govinda, Laishram Rameshor Meitei (44) of Lairikyengbam Leikai Salan Leirak, Athokpam Brojendro Singh @ Mukil (45) of Top Awang Leikai, and Laishram Sachikanta Singh @ Naothing (25) of Top Awang Leikai.
From their possession, security forces recovered a massive cache of weapons including multiple AK rifles, INSAS rifles, SLRs, carbines, .303 rifles, pistols, hand grenades, magazines, and over 1,000 rounds of assorted ammunition. In addition, police seized tube launchers, communication devices, camouflage gear, bulletproof vests, helmets, Aadhaar cards, and mobile phones.
On September 1, in a separate operation, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of KCP (Noyon), identified as Laikhuram Bhogendro Singh @ Inao (58), from Iranpham Thongkhong under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East.
On the same day, security forces apprehended an active PREPAK cadre, Irengbam Ibomcha Meitei @ Anthony (42), originally from Churachandpur district, at Gourangor area under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East.

Police said the seizures mark one of the largest recoveries of arms and ammunition in recent months, dealing a significant blow to illegal armed groups operating in the state. Investigations are underway to ascertain the wider network and possible links to insurgent groups.
