Arunachal: VKV Tafrogam Wins State-Level ‘Battle of Minds 2.0’ Quiz Competition

ITANAGAR, Sept 11: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Tafrogam, emerged as the champion of the second edition of Battle of Minds 2.0, the state-level inter-school quiz competition organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The prestigious event brought together some of the brightest young minds from across the state, showcasing their knowledge, analytical abilities and teamwork in a highly competitive academic contest.

Representing VKV Tafrogam, Kumari Evey Meto and Kumari Tonam Tayang displayed exceptional confidence, quick thinking and composure throughout the competition. The duo successfully outperformed teams from across Arunachal Pradesh and secured the coveted title after a closely contested and exciting final round.

This year’s edition witnessed remarkable growth in participation, reflecting the increasing popularity of the competition among students and schools. More than 343 schools took part in Battle of Minds 2.0, a substantial rise from the 53 schools that participated in the inaugural edition. Organizers described the surge in participation as a testament to the competition’s growing reputation as one of the state’s premier academic platforms.

The grand finale also highlighted the outstanding performance of all-girls teams. Blue Pine Residential English School, Ziro, secured the first runner-up position, while VKV Nirjuli and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission School, Dirang, finished as second and third runners-up respectively. Their achievements underscored the growing participation and success of young girls in academic competitions across the state.

From the preliminary rounds to the final showdown, participants were tested on a wide range of subjects, including general knowledge, current affairs, regional awareness, science, history and rapid-fire buzzer rounds. The contest kept audiences engaged throughout, with teams demonstrating impressive depth of knowledge and the ability to think under pressure. VKV Tafrogam’s consistency, strategic approach and quick reflexes ultimately proved decisive in securing victory.

Officials from the Department of Youth Affairs noted that Battle of Minds has evolved into one of Arunachal Pradesh’s most vibrant youth initiatives. Beyond competition, the programme seeks to foster critical thinking, communication skills, leadership qualities and a spirit of healthy academic engagement among students.

The competition was conducted across multiple zones, including Itanagar, Ziro, Bomdila, Aalo, Roing and Namsai, ensuring broad participation from schools throughout the state. Organizers emphasized that the initiative has grown into a movement that encourages intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning among young people.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the winners and participants, describing Battle of Minds as a “phenomenal platform” that nurtures talent, creativity and confidence among students. He praised the Department of Youth Affairs for creating opportunities that inspire young minds to excel academically and contribute meaningfully to society.

With VKV Tafrogam now holding the championship trophy, Battle of Minds 2.0 has concluded on a high note, further cementing its place as a flagship platform for youth empowerment and academic excellence in Arunachal Pradesh. Organizers expressed confidence that future editions will continue to attract even greater participation and inspire the next generation of leaders, innovators and thinkers.
