ITANAGAR, Sept 11: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Tafrogam, emerged champion of the second edition of Battle of Minds 2.0, the prestigious state-level inter-school quiz competition organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
The winning duo, Kumari Evey Meto and Kumari Tonam Tayang, outshone competitors with their intellect, composure, and teamwork to lift the coveted trophy after a tense final round.
This year’s competition marked a remarkable growth, with over 343 schools participating - up from just 53 in the inaugural edition. The final witnessed an impressive showing by all-girls teams. Blue Pine Residential English School, Ziro, secured the first runner-up spot, while VKV Nirjuli and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission School, Dirang, took the second and third runner-up positions respectively.

From preliminaries to the grand finale, students were tested across general knowledge, current affairs, regional awareness, and rapid-fire buzzer rounds, keeping audiences engaged throughout. VKV Tafrogam’s consistency and quick reflexes proved decisive in clinching the top title.
Organisers noted that Battle of Minds has grown into one of the state’s most vibrant youth platforms, fostering critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills among school students. With zones spanning Itanagar, Ziro, Bomdila, Aalo, Roing, and Namsai, the initiative has steadily evolved into a movement promoting intellectual engagement and academic curiosity.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated the winners, praising the competition as a “phenomenal platform” that empowers youth to showcase talent, creativity, and aspirations.
With VKV Tafrogam now holding the trophy, the event is expected to gain even greater traction in the years to come, cementing its status as a flagship platform for young minds in Arunachal Pradesh.
