Imphal, Aug 6, 2025: In a major development aimed at restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur, a 17-member delegation from Thadou Inpi Manipur, the apex body of the Thadou community, is holding a high-level meeting in Imphal with prominent valley-based Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
The talks bring together representatives from influential groups including the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO), Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), and Arambai Tenggol.
This marks the first visit by a Thadou Inpi delegation to the Imphal valley since ethnic clashes erupted in May 2023. The meeting follows an earlier engagement in April 2025 between Thadou Inpi and Arambai Tenggol in Guwahati, underscoring ongoing efforts toward dialogue and reconciliation.
Sources indicate that the discussions are centered on fostering trust, addressing grievances, and laying the groundwork for sustainable peace between communities. A joint press conference by the CSOs, Arambai Tenggol, and the Thadou Inpi delegation is expected later today to share the outcomes of the talks.
