DC Jiribam Inaugurates 7-Day Makeup Training for Women IDPs

Jiribam, Aug 6, 2025: In a bid to empower Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and promote self-reliance, Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, Shri Krishna Kumar, IAS, today inaugurated a 7-day Makeup Training Programme at Jiribam Higher Secondary School, Babupara.

The training, tailored for women IDPs residing in relief camps and girl students, aims to equip participants with practical skills for self-employment and income generation. A total of 26 trainees from three relief camps are undergoing the programme under the guidance of Master Trainer Thokchom Tombimacha.

Speaking at the event, DC Krishna Kumar stressed the importance of teamwork, open learning, and skill development in rebuilding lives disrupted by displacement. He reaffirmed the District Administration’s commitment to providing free food, lodging, and healthcare to IDPs.

The DC also commended the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Jiribam, for initiating the impactful programme, urging participants to make the most of the opportunity and transform their futures.
